I finished the series because I'm a completionist, but that doesn't mean you should.
The third book of the trilogy, revisits characters and world of the first book - both of which were not evident in the second. In that respect, it's almost worth a read.
My main complaint about this book the conclusion, which includes just about the worst instance of Deus ex machina I've encountered in the wild. God-aliens literally show up at the end of the book and resurrect everybody. So frustrating.

Book felt like fan fiction that accidentally got published. Rent must have been due because there is no other reason the author and the publishers would willingly put this out into the world. The Forever War did not need a direct sequel and this proves it 😮💨

Uck, it started out well, and I was kept intrigued and interested through most of the book. Then Haldeman does a total flip-flop and gives a cop-out ending. It felt rushed and as if he really had no idea how to end it with an actually interesting finale. I felt somewhat cheated after the majority of the book was pretty entertaining.
