A light an easy read. And as much as I wanted to shake her sometimes, I really enjoyed Jemima Jones' spirit and her spunk.
A fun read... seemed VERY unrealistic but a good summer read.
Very disappointing! Don't waste your time or money. There are better books out there, like "Good In Bed."
Everyone loves the underdog! Jemima J is exactly that. She is overweight, stuck in a dead end job and feels completely undesirable. She is at her wits end. Then comes a surprise invitation from across the pond and Jemima J's whole life changes.
I loved this book. How easy to relate to a female character having self image issues. The way she came to terms with herself and her weight, which in turn helped her find happiness, was wonderful. Plus, Jane Green has a wonderful writing style that made me feel as though Jemima and I were friends. Love it.
This book was poorly written, but it was a page-turner. What can I say? I read the whole thing in a couple of hours.
Jemima Jones is a columnist for a tiny suburban London paper--and very overweight. Meeting a man online prompts her to shed the pounds and become thin and gorgeous. She flies to LA to meet Brad and everything's wonderful, for a time. Until she discovers that he has a fetish for fat women and is using her as a front. In despair, she meets an old friend, Ben, who she secretly loves. Ben hasn't seen her since her transformation. Jemima discovers he has strong feelings for her too, and everything ends happily.
