My patience paid off, finally a good Lynley mystery again!

Could have used some exiting but overall very enjoyable, especially as I wanted to give Up after #19.

I have read all the Lynley books and, as always, reading this one is like visiting old friends. Lots of humor in this book. Barbara tap dancing! The last scene is great.

I love the series but holy lord, the book is 600+ pages and the story dragged on in so many ways that I had to force myself to read a chapter a night to finish it.

I was so Team Havers for this one. I've been binge reading the Louise Penny series and the relationship between Havers and Lynley and Gamache and Beauvoir are so similiar (and lovely) to me.

As always I held onto this galley for a long time - I didn't want to start because I didn't want it to end.

A bit too long (and talks down too millenials too much for me) but overall an engaging read.
