Alien Mate by Eve Langlais

The premise, while promising, ended up much more interesting than the writing and the book itself. I expected more originality, but it was classic battle of the sexes, with the Alien being the unyielding dominant, and the FMC full of sass. It could have been fun. The name of the Alien, as Kor’iander, like coriander the herb was just too much.

This was a fun read. I have a thing for aliens and even though this could've been more romantic, it was pretty nice for a short read!

I liked reading how things went with our human: Diana and her alien mate: Kor. I can be a huge fan of inta love but I liked that Diana wasn't very keen on having an alien as her mate and calling her his. He had to actually take her on a date before she said yes.

Diana made a lot of interesting questions and hopefully they'll made the aliens change some things. Like, what's with the thing with if your mate dies you have to mate with his family, like his brother?? I'd rather ran away or do something stupid to get hell away from that situation.

Kor is a good character but he didn't wake any strong feelings in me. I just feel like it needed more 'aww' content.

Kor really should've done some research before he met Diana. Things could've been so much easier for them. He could've even asked his parents for advice. There was so many ways he could've gone with, and none of them is the way he actually did. You'd think he'd have been more worried about Diana, if women are either dead or unable to have children in his planet.

Am I the only one that's wondering about all the people Diana left in Earth? We know he had an asshole as ex-boyfriend (what else is new in fiction?) but how about her friends and family?

Damn, damn, damn!
I refuse to have another book DNF. But this is torture!
Normally I can usually trust, for the most part, that the reviews I follow are close enough to what I would conclude.
NOT this time 😣

I was bored. The only real ‘plot’ was the evil brother, and he was a stereotypical bad guy with no actual characteristics but being bad. The technology was the only really interesting part in this, but I’ve also seen it done so much that it’s also not that ‘wow’ anymore. Maybe if I’d read this long ago when it came out and I hadn’t read a whole heap of books just like this, but yeah, at this point reading this was a little bit of a drag.

I'm telling ya, Eve is like the master of world building. It doesn't matter what genre it is in, if Eve is creating it I believe it. I was totally in this story. I kept looking out my window, looking up thinking that some hot blue alien was gonna head on down to Earth and be like "MINE!"

She creates a whole universe and its all IN SPACE! And it is all MADE UP! And it is hot blue aliens. With crazy aliens tossed in. With ease Eve brought me into this world and I smack landed in this land of sexy aliens and I ain't going back to earth anytime soon!

Alien Mate was a short quick read and I loved every minute of it. I think the fact that we have a super hot and sexy blue alien man makes the book more fun as well.

This was a short read and maybe a little chessy but most definitely entertaining. Kor comes to earth to claim his mate Diana so they can bond as quickly as possible, except for the fact that she doesn't want this forced upon her. Diana likes Kor, but she wants a choice, to know that her opinion matters and she has a choice.

But Diana quickly falls in love with Kor, because he is everything she wants and more. Kor is sweet and kind and very caring of Diana. Did I mention very protective of her as well! Kor had a little trouble winning Diana over in the beginning because he sort of kidnapped her from her home to be with him on his planet, but things slowly worked out for him and he won her heart over.

Alien Mate was a really cute read and I sort of wish the short story was a bit longer because I really enjoyed it. I would love to see more Alien books with the mate aspect because I really love the Alien Mate concept. I hope to find more books like this.
