Such fun!

RJ Blain is so much fun to read. Hilarious antics, witty conversations and characters that won’t stay down, this entire series is ripe with entertainment, no matter which part of the world they find themselves in. This one cracked me up, then again, that IS why I read RJ Blaine. Paranormal with a side of humor, perfect.

First person, single POV, episodic Ending.
Rating = Pg13, nite for violence.
Romantic dynamic = M/F (but no rating clause needed, Blain is fade to black IF anything happens)
Character age range = Adult

Pros:
- Hilarious writing.
- Characters are engrossing.
- I like the idea of Tulip.

Cons:
- Series is getting repetitive, every character is funny and sarcastic. Which is good, but EVERY one in EVERY book?
- Fade to black... there was no consummation in this book, but I know if/when it happens, no details will be given. Alas.

This one was fun! Tulip is 1/2 Mermaid / Gorgon, who also happens to be non-aquatic. Which has caused her mother (who happens to be Queen) to conquer a LOT islands so her daughter can be close to her territories :)

Tulip also has a little secret. She's a serial killer of serial killers. Her latest target was snatched right from under her. She's especially annoyed when her undercover delivery carrier package explodes in her face.

Her mother, tired of dealing with her ... has "sold" her to her father, who she's never met. She's definitely smitten with his bodyguard though .. who happens to be an unknown lycanthrope, and makes yummy bacon.

While investigating for her next target, she stumbles into a situation her father & body guard show up to help extract her from. She finds out Justin's shifter form. He explains he's chosen her ... and then ... to be continued...

OMG! I loved this one sooooo damn much! :D :D
Such great (and excessive, but not too much) humor. This is why I love reading books by the author, she just makes you laugh, facepalm and eagerly rush through the pages like there is no tomorrow.
I really hope we will see a bit more of Tulip and Justin in a later novella or so, they are just too much fun.

The book itself is well written and there is no sex described (if that is important to you).

Really recommend this series! If you like shifters, a lot of humor, some mystery and some romance, tied together in an easy (and not too serious) read... well... pick it up already!

Liked it

I enjoyed this book and the characters. It had lots of introspection in Tulips part with a little romance, some hilarious moments and action. Though I did prefer other books in this series to this one. Definitely going to get the next one.
