‘A 30 minute chapter is quite a long story from the Spaniard’ I thought, ‘But at least we’ll be back to the present after that’. How naive I was…

I really enjoyed the opening to this book, but the separate stories tended to drag, especially Moncadas story and Isidoras story. Just a lot of repetition as if this book isn’t long enough. I loved the prose but this book had the common tendency of the time to just ramble on.
