This book had me in all the feels! I read this in about a day and really enjoyed it. I loved Paige and Declan’s relationship and the way that they grew together. I thought I had the ending figured out but I was very wrong and I’m glad I was! I believe that the grief and healing process were portrayed so well. Nicole did such a great job with these characters and their emotions, definitely one I recommend!

This book is an emotional, small town romance. With a hint of crazy ex to add some drama. Think Hallmark with some spicy scenes. It wasn't a bad plot, really. And the author did a great job on those emotional/confrontational scenes. If you like slice of life stories, this is for you.

At times, the writing got a little repetitive for me. I also found it easy to disengage from the story because it was just really low angst.

Declan and Paige had me dreaming about Alpine Peak and the Cooper boys 🥰

I love a small town romance + fake dating story. You could think that after a while they all start to resemble one another, but Nicole managed to spin a fresh story with a unique fake dating tie-in.
Her relatable characters set in a small town scene, encountered real life emotional moments and heartwarming connections. Such a brilliant start to her writing career, plus a wonderful start to this duology 💞

This dual POV had me feeling tense, gasping and almost crying from the start. But I soon was grinning & giggling the more Paige her story developed with protective, kind & sweet-talking Declan capturing her (and my) heart. Declan is exactly what the best book-boyfriends are made off !!

Kinda figured that someone from the side-characters would be involved in her dad’s accident, but oh my .. I did not see that twist coming at all. High suspense levels for sure.
🌲 Can’t wait to return to Alpine Peak to dive into Myles and Sophie’s story !

Big thanks to Nicole Kennedy for a chance to read this ARC of her debut novel
