This was charming, very like what I remember of the second Anne movie. I enjoyed Anne’s adventures in Summerside, I only wish we could’ve seen some correspondence back from Gilbert! Can’t wait to read the next one, it’s a favorite of mine.

Jak zwykle fantastyczna książka, tak samo dobra jak wcześniejsze tomy. Szumiące Topole i ogólnie całe Summerside jest cudownie opisanym miejscem i czuje się jego magię do ostatniej strony. Akcja jest przeplatana listami do Gilberta, w których Ania okazuje swoją miłość do chłopaka pięknymi słowami, więc wspaniale czyta się jej korespondencję. 4 część serii skupia się na historii wielu ludzi, którzy najczęściej pojawiają się i znikają po kilku rozdziałach. Mieszkańcy Summerside są niezwykle interesującymi osobami, a autorka ciekawie pokazuje ich liczne wady, ale też zalety. Bohaterowie są zróżnicowani - zabawni albo tragiczni, dzieci, dorośli, młodzież i starsi. L.M. Montgomery wykreowała wspaniałe postaci, wśród których najciekawsze są Elżbietka i Julianna. Ela jest małą dziewczynką, sąsiadką Ani, której jedyną rozrywką jest codzienne wypijanie mleka, które dostaje od mieszkanek Szumiących Topoli. 8-latka żyje marzeniami o lepszym Jutrze, w którym pozna swojego tatę mieszkającego na Zachodzie. Jej ufność i uwielbienie dla Ani oraz okropne dzieciństwo są poruszające. Osoba Julianny pokazuje, że ludzie potrafią założyć na siebie maskę, której później nie potrafią już zdjąć. Kobieta marzy tylko o towarzystwie psa, a nawet tego nie może dostać. Książka jak zwykle porusza ważne tematy i skłania do przemyślań. Historia ta jest ogromnie emocjonująca, pełna radości i tragedii, a Anię z każdą stroną kocha się jeszcze bardziej. Jak zwykle 5 gwiazdek, gdybym mogła byłoby nawet 6.

Not my favorite of the series, but I appreciate it more now as an adult. I do like that for the first time, there are people who dislike Anne & make relationships difficult for her. She always seemed to have it to easy once she got to Green Gables, but this gives her a little more realism, even if, in the end, everything's all roses & she is well beloved again
