As soon as I saw this while shopping, I knew that I had to get my hands on it to share it with my son since I love the movie so much that I watch it every year during the holidays. The events of the film have been pared down quite a bit to fit the mold of a traditional children's book, so there are characters and minor plotlines that have been removed completely, but as a whole the spirit is retained with a huge boost from the terrific illustrations.

Very much like the movie, although the tarantula scene from the movie is not in the book. The images are so good and well done.

Lets start by saying that these illustrations are to DIE FOR! They are absolutely stunning!

I understand trying to fit an entire feature film into a children’s book is just unrealistic, but sometimes change is not a good thing. Although this was still cute and great for children, there were changes through out, things left out, and it felt super rushed!

Sometimes making movies into books just isn’t a great idea... especially when they’re classics.

Overall, cute, beautifully illustrated book, great for reading to your youngen’s this Christmas!

I might be pursuaded to rethink this if/after I read the physical book with the accompanying illustrations. If the cover is anything to go by, I think they could be really great.
These are my thoughts after listening to the 7 minutes (!) long audiobook.

This had very little of the things I love about the movie. Everything was shortened, and while this is supposed to be a children’s book, I was actually quite disappointed with how watered down it was.

The storybook is short and is essentially a retelling of the movie except this time it's only told from Kevin's perspective which I love coz he really believes Santa made his family disappear. I also love the illustration it draws you in

Adorable picture book version of the Christmas classic. The story is a bit simplified but charming nonetheless.
