Disclaimer I do love JVN, but this book was amazing! The chapter on grief really hit me. I loved their writing style, super conversational, it felt like we were just chatting. I learned and thought a lot while reading this book. It covers a lot of hard hitting topics but with grace and humor, without minimizing anything. Highly recommend.

A strong, sarcastic, and honest collection of essays. The stories are raw and unfiltered while talking about intimate experiences and personal identity. It made me angry and hopeful and frustrated and excited for how far queer experiences have come and how much farther we have to go. JVN speaks confidently about topics he is passionate about while acknowledging the experiences and struggles that he will never be able to relate to. Representation like this is so important for showing young people that other people feel the same as they do.
