I didn't expect to like this book. I'm surprised that I did. You think (based on the summary) that it's a serial killer young woman that wants to kill her mother's new boyfriend. It's more than that. There are side quests and issues that you aren't aware of until the very end. I was surprised by the ending because so much happens in the last few chapters. I can usually tell how a book is going to end, but not this book. Definitely worth a read.

This story is so unhinged, but I love female vengeance.  The parts that I didn’t enjoy - and generally don’t in any book - are where I don’t know what is real and what isn’t.  I know that’s sort of a critical tool in this story, but I just don’t like being confused.  An excellent debut from Monika Kim!
