WOW okay I liked this a lot. Sort of gave me the ick as someone who has dealt with men who fetishize Asian women. Loved Alexis and Jihyun, hated george and geoffrey, their mom irked me on a lot of levels, and Jiwon made a great unhinged character although at many points she was also unlikeable (but her being unlikeable didn't make me hate her. I was frustrated with how she treated her former friends, but I didn't like her feminine rage).
Will read more from this author whenever they release another book.
Please read content/trigger warnings because there is some gross stuff in this

This book was so incredible. I was hooked from the beginning and it did not let down once the horror kicked in. Every action felt purposeful in progressing the narrative of the state of this family.

I really enjoyed this book as it was one of my most anticipated reads of 2024.

I loved the slow build of Ji-won’s obsession as well as the imagery it provoked.

This book definitely made me squirm as eyeballs are a thing for me, but nonetheless I really enjoyed it and was rooting for her to succeed when maybe I shouldn’t have been. In a funny turn of events this book left me feeling like it was a “good for her” story which wasn’t something I expected going into it.
