This was an excellent book. I was inspired to read it by the Behind The Bastards Podcast and was not disappointed. While, as a non-german, the names were sometimes hard to follow, the high-level information is still very fascinating to learn.

This is a good synthetic overview of the political maneuvering among factions of Weimar Germany's political parties that led to Hitler's rise to power. I don't agree with his analysis on everything, but it's a good and very readable general introduction to the complicated politics of Weimar Germany. As it's written in 2018, it also notes a number of the more striking parallels between the players in 1930s Germany and in the U.S. and European politics today.

An excellent discussion of the Nazi's rise to power. This book does a great job clarifying the complicated context in which the Nazis came to power without simplifying it. It can be terrifying when comparing it to current events.

Read this after I binged the show Babylon Berlin. Historical parallels are pretty terrifying.
