A funny, refreshing read with lots of queer representation and diverse perspectives. I liked the main characters but felt they kept the reader at arms length sometimes, and the huge cast of side characters made it a little hard of follow (especially as an audiobook).

But I'm glad I read it and I'd recommend if you like books where not much happens but the characters are witty and have a dry sense of humour!

this book was tender, funny, and queer. i hated that all the names were so similar because it got confusing at times and i kept flipping to the guide and still had some trouble. especially at the end. i guess it’s a story of the bittersweet nature that things change but can’t stay the same. i was glad to see how their stories turned out. a fun read and i liked the māori representation as well.
