Did it need to be as long as it was? No. I still really enjoyed this book even with some of the cringey factor.

Okey so I have a lot to say about this book.
After reading my first adult romance book I wanted to tip in the more smutty area of books and try how I would like that. I heard about a lot of different books and I was just never feeling the way that that would be an actual good book with an actual good writing style.
This was the first book I thought might actually good....boy was I wrong.
The writing style feels like you are reading a fanfic and it's really repetitive, cringey and doesn't make much sense, but I was ready to overlook that and at the beginning it was looking good.
The plot with Rachel getting the Doctor thing and all was actually interesting and I wanted to see where that would go and it actually made sense. Her relationship with Jake (I have read the novella) was fine enough. I was okey to overlook of the whole "You are mine" stuff I really dislike.
I was even positive cuz this book actually mentioned consent and I was hoping this would just be a lil cringey smut to enjoy.
But this has so much misogyny, sexism, homophobia sprinkled in there. Rachel is the typical 'I'm not like other girls' and she is 'one of the boys' until a certain point I just couldn't stand it.
She was so unbearable, honestly all of them were...
The only one I liked kinda was Mars but idk if with further reading that would've changed but I just couldn't pull through anymore. It got to a point where I didn't even enjoy the smut of this anymore.
I also heard that with the journey of Jake and Caleb there comes even more homophobia and I dont think I could've beared that, so I decided to stop.
I dont know what else to say. I actually could say a lot more....
This is a bad wattpad smut story nobody should need to pay for.
The quality is not existent and i can not believe that this book which badically is nothing but bad porn was actually TRADITIONALLY PUBLISHED
The end
...
I hate this book

I’d seen this book all over Instagram and decided to see if the hype was legit. Spoiler alert: IT IS. Funny banter, emotionally layered character connections, found family, FIVE ALARM SPICE. It was good! You definitely gotta read the prequel novella though, or Jake is gonna come on a bit strong without the context of his backstory with Rachel.

Let's be honest. This book is for what it is, period. To read it with your favorite toy at hand and not give the plot too much thought. Porn with (bad) plot, that's all. Don't take it seriously... because if you do.... well, it's a book with some pretty toxic characters. Rachel is a whiny (actually, she whines all the time), manipulative spoiled brat who at no time thinks about anything but her brown pussy. Jake is an insecure little boy who has a lot of self-esteem to work on, the author says he's a golden reteiever, but perhaps he's the most toxic. Caleb could have been an interesting character if he had accepted his sexuality and communicated more, (as it looked like he was going to). And Ilmari... look, the guy is possessive as fuck and has monumental trauma. But hey, they're all possessive as hell and carry their traumas with them. If I dig deeper into the plot, I get more pissed off: their (the boy's) sexuality is specifically misrepresented, because they never admit that they like boys; the relationships between them.... (I think it would all make more sense if Caleb and Jake had something going on before Rachel arrived, if Ilmari had entered the relationship through Jake or Caleb, not Rachel). And worst of all, how toxic and unrealistic relationships and sex are, and that this is available to young impressionable girls. Zero judgedment if you read it as an adult with a head in orden to have a good time, but making it available to young girls seems very dangerous to me and normalizes horrible and super toxic things.
Not LGTB+ friendly at all!!!!!!!!!

Wow, a lot sure can happen to a gal in 5 months!

Are there some problematic elements in this story? Yes. Was it enjoyable? Hell yes!

This was such a fun take on a RH MMFM relationship, but oh yeah...what mess. While it is a loooong book that could have easily trimmed ~300 pages without losing anything from the (lack of) plot, I never felt the need to skim. It is a very easy read and, for the most part, well-written.

Each character is fun, but they all read college-age NA to me rather than their actual 27-30 y.o (with the exception of maybe Ilmari). There were a number of times I had to eye roll over some of their choices or actions, but again, it didn't take away from my overall enjoyment of the book.

All-in-all, it's a low angst, high steam, insta-love, sex fest of a book!
