i feel like who ever is giving this book a 4 or 5 stars is lying. 🤣😠The only reason this gets an extra .25 is cause i really liked Lanston, but him dying?? bro really?? not only that but the "character development" , where is she ?? it just so pitifully written, and nothing about it beside the last 80 pages made it "thriller". you could smell the whole plot miles and miles away. and i get books can be unrealistic but c'mon , wynn literally getting shot in the heart and her surviving??? and heart transplants don't work like that ?? anyways, such a waste of time, i should have DNFed this book about 30 pages in.

Apparently I read this one in 4 days. I wish it was the double of that time to spend more time with Wynn and Liam and Lanston. I got really attached to them. They were so wholesome and earnest and honest and genuine in their pain and the faults painted onto them by others. I would also like to thank the author for making my cry my soul at in the last 3 chapters or so - I didn't think dark romance would make my ugly cry sob like this one did but it felt good to cleanse my own inner emotions. Solid story - with that nice murder mystery and a SOLID but like brick solid plot twist! Loved that! And a glorious happy ending. I wish I could hug the characters and just thank them for having shared these moments with me. This was a beautiful read! A cherished book, a cherished story. This could be such a nice movie under the right production team's hands.
Such a complex book, heartbreaking - at times amusing. Yet layers beneath it all. Currently sobbing because what the fuck. Lanston.. my god, that gutted me. And the way Wynn describes why she wishes to die, to not be on the earth anymore, I felt her, I understood her. Liam.. a boy who only ever believed he needed to be punished, he had nobody by his side - in his corner for so long. Ugh this book made me laugh, made me feel seen in the ways mental health can break one’s mind and soul. Yet the love, the friendships built. It won’t be for everybody, it’s not a book many will understand and will probably roll eyes at, yet it’s a book I will find myself re-reading and going back to.
