The amount of walking described was preposterous. Look I love a good journeying through the apocalyptic world sequence but it was too much. Honestly I kind of enjoyed when Eric had walking thru zombie world chapters but the girls were high key boring. Also there’s nothing that pisses me off like people being picky about food during the apocalypse. It’s the apocalypse!!! I would eat worms during the apocalypse! What’s wrong with these people?? Anyways with all the long winded walking/murdering Lexers sequences you would THINK she could fit in a proper ending. But no. It’s a to-be-continued type. I did like it though. Eric, Leo, Paul, and Maria definitely saved the book. Most female characters this woman writes are insufferable tho. I had to stop reading the other series because Cassie is literally the most annoying person. Silvie and Grace are okayyy. Maria is an exception cuz she badass AF. It’s sad that Rachel got eaten cuz she could’ve had good character development. Also that Clark got eaten. He was a cool guy. Manny :(.

An entertaining story! Sympathetic characters focus on supporting each other as family and helping others along the way in order to survive the Zombie Apocalypse. Humor, working through personal issues & a touch of romance. This Audible version has one of my favorite narrators, Luke Daniels, making this a great companion for doing chores & school planning. *ALSO, the English teacher in me loved the new-word-a-game-day the falling-in-love couple played---which is where the title comes from. Cute & clever! (At one point, the fighting & the angst dragged on a little bit for me but not enough to stop me from enjoying & from borrowing book 2.) (Language) **Kindle Unlimited

This was very enjoyable! I was a little worried when the word-of-the-day calendar came up. That annoyed me in the True Blood books, I felt like it was the author finding a way to use big words without confusing her poor stupid fans. But, it was handled much better in this book & actually ended up being cute & a real part of the story, not just way to sneak in a vocabulary lesson. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next installment in this series. I really enjoyed the [b:Until the End of the World|18586621|Until the End of the World (Until the End of the World #1)|Sarah Lyons Fleming|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1380146803s/18586621.jpg|25598538] series as well. I like this author. She writes in a way that keeps me turning the pages, but her work is not so simplistic and juvenile that I feel guilty reading it.

What can I say other than it is a typical zombie book; fast-paced, predictable, with no major plot twists, but I can at least say that it is a very well written one with likable and realistic characters. It alternated between the POVs of two main characters, Sylvie and Eric, following their actions in surviving the zombie apocalypse. Not my normal genre, but I still got sucked in pretty quickly. My only real grievance is how quickly this virus took over, it was left mostly unexplained and seemed far too unbelievable.. but then again, so are zombies in general.
