I loved how this book was set up and how Adeline snuck in to compromise the wrong man. This was an amazing single dad romance with a tortured hero. I love Stacy Reid's writing, and this was a great marriage of convenience.

I loved the chemistry between these characters and the relationship with his two daughters.

I enjoyed this book. Adeline was a good heroine, Edmond was a fine hero and their relationship was pretty solid.

The pace was a bit slow at first and all in all I can’t say I was very invested in the characters. It’s been 2+ months since I read this book and I recall a few things but not everything.

So, I would say, it’s an easy and fun read, but not quite something that wowed me.

I’ve learned the widower and pregnancy tropes are not for me.
