I love second person writing and this is the best I've ever seen it. This novel took me through feelings of childhood nostalgia, the devastation and horrors of teenagehood, and finally the life-affirming resolutions of adulthood. Catherine Prasifika has written a character that could actually be me (or you, or any of us) and she holds my deepest and most personal thoughts, feelings and desires in the palm of her hand. Never has my relationship with my previous selves and my desperation to be the truest version of myself been so beautifully expressed. I will be reading her other work and looking forward to more.

So much better than the first one & very engagingly written

One of the best books I’ve read this year. It’s like she’s in my brain. More than once I felt like I’d been punched in the chest by this book. A stunning commentary on growing up online and the effect it has on our brains. Captured beautifully and with full feeling.

Really effective use of second person, works really well for the subject matter putting you right in the middle of the experience. Obviously the dangers/warping effect of the Internet and social media have been discussed extensively but this does a great job of making you relive how we got to this point and how all consuming it can be.

Probably resolves a bit too easily/neatly but in a way it's nice to get a happy ending after some of the stuff the character/you go through.
