It's cute enough and I did enjoy it, but I probably won't read it again. It's part of a series and I haven't read the first book, but it didn't seem to be that important to what was going on in the second. It's a pretty quick read and like I said it is cute, but I'm not likely to recommend it to anyone.

Oh Tate... how can you be such a jerk, but also so hot.  It's a question that will forever plague me.

Tate is Conner's oldest brother.  He's known for being a man slut, but maybe he'll find the woman that will calm his ass down.  He doesn't trust easily, but the minute he sees Ella he feels protective of her.  He doesn't know why.  Seeing him fight his emotions is pretty funny.  He doesn't know how to do sweet stuff.  He's never done it before, and finds himself trying to keep his hands, and thoughts, off Ella.  It proves to be pretty damn difficult.  I do love seeing him with his niece.  She's the only one that can bring out the big teddy bear in him.

Ella is running away from a dark past.  She's ashamed of how she allowed herself to be treated, and figured being the PA for Dirty B would be a great way to hide herself in plain sight.  She's not used to all the joking around the guys do, and sometimes feels a little out of place.  I was happy when she started giving their crap back to them.  She's witty, funny, and still trying to become the person she knows she's supposed to be.  Her ex is awful, and the threatening messages scare her.

Dirty Past has it's light moments but it also deals with abuse.  There were instances where I felt awful for Ella, but happy that she realized she should get herself out of the situation.  If you want parents to really dislike, wait until you meet Ella's.  They are horrid.  Even though Ella's past is dark, the book is filled with witty comebacks, laughter, and love.  It's definitely one of my favorites.

DNF. The author’s lazy and dismissive lack of research was infuriating. She gave her female lead a serious past, then treated it in an unrealistic, and frankly, harmful way. Very, very disappointing, especially because I liked some of her other books.

To clarify, I don’t like romance/erotic novels, so this is not a fair review if this is your genre, so just move along, this review isn’t for you.

I’ve decided this year I will be reading genres I don’t normally read. Knowing these are quickie books (heehee) and I’m in bed all day sick, I thought why not pop one out and move along?

I picked this one because it looked like it was more story than just sex and, being a therapist, I was intrigued by the trauma components of the story. Also, it was one of the few that didn’t have a long ass wait on Libby. So why one star? Is that all because I don’t normally like these novels?

First, the sex wasn’t even that great. Not only was it repetitive in nature but it didn’t even give me ideas for my own relationship, unlike some super races young adult novels I’ve read. (I’m looking at you ACOMAF...) For a novel that is specifically written for the erotic nature, it was a let down.

Second, can we stahp it already with the abusive romantic relationships? Really, the girl leaves one abusive relationship and ends up in another but this one is ok and healthy because he doesn’t hit her? Um, no! This is not an issue I have with this book in particular but in any book that depicts this kind of nonsense.

That’s it really. I don’t have much more to say on this book. If you have recommendations in this genre that might sway me to your side, let me know. Otherwise, peace Erotic Romance, it was a fun, albeit short, ride!

I was shown the error of my ways by saying nothing could be better than Conner Burke, but boy did Miss Emma prove me wrong!! I went from hating Tate in book one to wanting a Tate of my own in book two!
Tate Burke is the bad boy of the Dirty B.'s he's the horny bass player with a terrible habit of sleeping around and not really caring about it. He swore no woman could ever tame the man and he is held set on making that statement true. He's sexy and tattooed he's got a dirty mouth and a body to back it up.
Ella is running away, she's running away to give herself a future, one that she thinks is the best decision she should make and becoming the personal assistant to the boy band the Dirty B.'s sounded like a solid plan. She goes from Manhattan to tour bus with rowdy men, one female and a toddler. Little does she know that sometimes the past doesn't stay in the past like it's supposed to, sometimes it roars its ugly face or worse at you and sometimes you remember to Fear Nothing and become stronger than you ever were before!!

DNF'ed at 54%

Re-read of this and I am reminded why I gave this only 3 stars. The toddler dialogue is annoying. Beyond annoying. It's overly mature in content but written as baby talk and none of it is needed in this story at all. It serves only as a completely unnecessary distraction. It wouldn't be so bad if it was touched on once or twice but no, a rather large amount of space is devoted to baby talk. It is sooooo annoying! If 98%of it was deleted this would be a far better book.

Tate is an alpha sweetheart

I knew Tate’s book would be good and I wasn’t wrong! Emma hart has a way of mixing alpha male with sweetheart so well and this was no exception. This book has so much feeling from start to finish! I can’t wait to start on the next brother ! I wish I had known about these sooner!

4.5 stars!! Great series!!

I loved the plot,
I loved the writing style,
I loved the sass and all the funny discussions. The brothers are gorgeous, very grounded even though the whole world seems to love them.
Tate is THE perfect bad boy, but as a committed boyfriend? *swoon*

About the characters:
Els is such a strong young lady, I totally fell for her. Despite what happened to her, she's got so much sass in her and it's brave that she doesn't hold it in. In the beginning, she has her shy episodes but with Tate around, they become fewer.
Els continually accuses Tate of disrespecting women and yeah, you have to admit that he hasn't had the greatest history with them and I would not want to be on of his flings. Definitely not. Still, he loves his family, worships them. So yeah, can't hold that against him. The girls he hooks up with... No, I don't wanna say they deserve it but... do they? Ah, I don't know.

Anyways, there was just one thing that I found a bit disappointing: The ending. Why? Because I think that women who were abused should stand up and tell the world what happened. It must hurt like hell to relive it and sure, many just want to forget it and move on but Matthew? He will find his next victim and what if she can't stand up for herself?

So yeah, don't get me started on the other brothers and Sofie and Mila? Ah, cuteness overload. This little girl is seriously awesome.
