Horror is definitely not my genre, but I've sucked in by the spiral and I can't stop reading this.
The plot is bizarre, the art is complex, and I have no idea where this is headed. Yet I can't wait to see what comes next.

Well, this was awesome. I don't think I'll ever be able to look at anything spiral-shaped the same way again, but that's alright. The experience of this book—supremely unsettling as it was—was well worth the cost of a little psychological trauma. Of course, that's probably the spiral talking...
Horror is pretty hit or miss for me. This is my first Japanese horror comic. The art work is incredibly detailed, but the stories stop just short of being something super memorable for me personally. Spirals as a point of fear is an interesting concept considering how prevalent they are in nature.
What did I just read?
No manga has ever made me cringe like this one. Would recommend.

Spiral Obsession (part 1) : 3/5
Spiral Obsession (part 2) : 4/5
The Scar: 0.35/5
The Firing Effect: 2.75/5
Twisted Souls: i won't bother with any rating
Medusa: WHY??? 1.5/5
Artwork : 4/5 though I wish it was a little less text heavy.
So, over all 2.85 underwhelmed stars
P.S: I liked the Afterword better than most of the stories.

I really enjoyed this - I will have to get around to reading the other two parts at some point. It's an eerie story about a little coastal town where spirals seem to be taking over - people become acutely aware of where spirals occur naturally, with supernatural results.
This book isaa physical manifestation of "what the fuck?"... But Ito has a really fantastic way of articulating horror. It was..... It was a trip to read.
