— i’m not sure how to review manga. i should learn though. but this was beautiful and tragic and horrifying. the art felt almost corrupt and it was wonderful.

This book is hilarious. I know this is supposed to be horror but it’s only slightly creepy and mostly ridiculous (in a good way) what is going on in this town.
The main female protagonists (?) needs to listen to her boyfriend. He knew that the spirals were getting out of hand but she didn’t take him seriously. Now all these people are dying.
Overall it’s a quick read and I’ll probably read the next volume to see where it goes.

I usually hate anime/manga but I heard Junji Ito is supposed to be one of the best horror authors out there, so I thought I would give him a try. Boy this series is fucking scary, as well as scary good. It follows Kirie, a girl whose town is haunted by the spiral pattern, obsessing its residents til the point of death and even beyond. The illustrations are beautiful and disgusting at the same time, and incredibly detailed. They really inspire me as an artist. If you have a weak stomach or are scared easily, these are probably not for you. However, if you don't like manga, this one isn't in that traditional style, so I suggest you give this book a try. There are two more Uzumaki books, and I'll be sure to read those soon as well...although I admit I've been putting it off because I'm terrified...
Non so se sia un caso, ma il giorno dopo aver cominciato la lettura ho comprato su Amazon uno spiralizzatore per verdure.
