don't mention this book to me ever again

I had no idea manga could be so scary- I was jumpy for a week after reading this. I'll never look at spirals the same way again. The way the images were drawn, ugh they were burned into my brain- if you don't like scary stuff, don't read this. If you want to be haunted by the weirdness of something as menial as a pattern a two year old can draw, dive in.

(I stopped reading these after book two)

My first manga and a really solid one at that. I read mainly horror and still had to give myself breaks from this book. Truly spooky.

It wasn't until I was logging this book that I learned there were more volumes. Knowing that would have affected my initial reading and frustration at the ending. It's a very quick read and I'm a sucker for horror in common things. Even now I look around for the spirals around me.

A disturbing manga by acclaimed Japanese author Junji Ito about the horror of the spiral. I continue to enjoy Junji's unique concepts and insane art style. I felt that some of the stories in this volume were a little repetitive but, otherwise, I really enjoyed this collection of stories and look forward to checking out Junji's other works as well as the Netflix adaptation of this series!

I’ve been meaning to read this manga for awhile now and am very glad I finally did. The artwork is beautiful and genuinely disturbing at points, many of the images were burned into my mind for some time after reading. I enjoyed the story itself overall, although my only critique was that it was a bit too long. But definitely worth checking out if you’re a horror fan, a haunting, unforgettable story!

This is great, it will make you look around and see we are surrounded by spirals! It is an exercise in weirdness and puts you on edge. If you can stand the gore and love horror, this is for you.
