A lot of graphic sex. The majority of the book is about graphic sex scenes.
Graphic: Cursing, Sexual content, and Violence
Moderate: Death of parent

I received an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Persephone Dimitriou has always had a mask on in Olympus— the smiley, perfect middle daughter of Demeter. She always did what she was told and smiled for the cameras. In reality, she hated being in Olympus and was waiting until she turned 25—when her inheritance kicked in—so that she could get out. A few months before her 25th birthday, and she's taken by surprise when Zeus announces she is his next wife. His three prior wives all died under mysterious circumstances. That night, she flees to Lower Olympus, a place she has been told is off limits.
Persephone soon meets Hades, someone she thought to be a legend, and strikes a deal with him. Persephone just needs to make it three months, then she can flee Olympus as she planned. What lengths will she go to in order to evade Zeus' wrath?
I was very excited for a Greek mythology romance, especially after reading all of the books in the Percy Jackson universe. Not much was mentioned about Hades and Persephone, so I was intrigued by the premise of this book. I know the general mythology between them, and this put a spin on that story. When I first requested this book, I had not paid attention to the fact that this was an Adult book (this is why you read the full synopsis!!), so I was very surprised when it got Adult very quickly. The premise of this book was great and the overall plot intrigued me. There were parts that made me cringe though, which is a why this was not a higher rating for me. Also, it felt like there was a good chunk where nothing really happened. It was cute, but definitely just felt very slow to me. The last 20% of this book definitely saved the book for me. The pacing was perfect and the events leading up to the peak of the story were entertaining.

I loved this book so much! I have always loved Greek mythology, so when I heard this book was a retelling of Hades and Persephone I knew I had to read this! One thing is that if you are not into extremely steamy scenes then this is not the book for you!!
What I liked:
- dual narration because I always like to know what each character thinks
- the interaction with the other Gods
- the storyline of Hades and Persephone getting to know each other, especially seeing them at the shops and meeting the residents of the lower city
- all the steamy scenes, especially the epilogue! I was worried we wouldn't get a conclusion regarding that aspect of their relationship!
What I didn't like:
- nothing because I loved everything about this book!
Thank you to Sourcebooks and Netgalley for my early copy in exchange for a honest review! I cannot wait for the next book!
