I realize most people probably aren't reading this book for the plot and character development but I found Hades in this to be the much more interesting and fleshed out character over Persephone. Persephone felt really under-developed as a character.  I couldn't understand Persephone's desire to have sex with Hades as it really seemed to come out of left field.  I get she agreed to it as a way to prevent her from marrying

Zeus

but her very quick pivot to "please have sex with me I want you" was quite abrupt.  This is definitely not the worst Hades and Persephone retelling I've ever read.

Well-developed characters, excellent world-building, fast-paced with an ACTUAL story (I prefer my smut to have SOME plot), and top-tier spice! I definitely think my rating will change depending on how the other books in the series go, but I will say that this is a strong start to the series and can't wait to read more.

Its a fine Romantasy book. Quick, easy to read. Sexy. Hard to get attached to the characters or plot. Better than the second book  in the series. Is it unspeakably hot per the reviews? No.

PLEASEEE IM IN LOVE omg greek mythology Injust adore and Hades goodness gracious what a guy. Absolutely love him hands down. Like Hades was definitely the star of the show, sorry Persephone. Persephone’s character was still great through. I love this book <3!!!.

 I'm weirdly upset that a retelling this similar to the original (aka same names, status, etc) takes place in America. I guess everything really is Americanized these days.

Besides that I enjoyed reading this. Does it have a crazy intricate plot and amazing character development? No. Does it have a sexy romance with a lot of smut scenes? Yes. And that's exactly what I wanted from it.

Typically I don’t like instalove but between the BDSM and my innate love for Hades and Persephone I actually enjoyed this book. Don’t expect too much out of the plot of course. A nice light read when you want to scratch the spicy itch 😏
