I really enjoyed this take on Greek gods and was very happy with how consent was a main plot point in the story.
All the characters were very interesting and I thought the author did a good job of showing the Persephone and Hades dynamic as equal. Also I enjoyed the mention of them both being queer (although not labeled)
I actually wanted more information on the overall world, so hopefully I will learn more in the other books.

I love a good Greek retelling, and this book definitely satisfied the urge. It's very visual and open-door, but I really like the world Robert created, if it is a little confusing. The city appears to be somehow on this earth, as Persephone mentions wanting to leave Olympus and go to grad school at Berkley, which is in present-day California, so I did find there to be some plot holes, but nothing too major. The book sets up nicely a future for sequels - the next one drops this month and I can't wait!
