Apparently I had read this before - didn’t remember any of the story while reading it.
Last time looks like I only gave 2 stars and said I didn’t find it suspenseful- this time I gave 3 stars and I totally enjoyed it.
Young politician with a controlling father in law makes it to Presidency, has some affairs and possibly is involved in some murders. Before marrying his wife he was engaged to marry another lady. Jilted, that lady makes it her mission to bring him as much hurt as he did to her...she had a plan to bring him down.

Sidney Sheldon books rarely disappoint. Good plot, believable characters and then the usual twist in the tale. Didn't see this one coming to be honest!

In my opinion, the worst book by Sidney Sheldon. However, it was as bad as his novels can go, which is to a very small extent, but there were definitely parts that didn't seem to add up, and in the middle of the story I found myself becoming slightly bored. It sure was gripping every now and again though, but at the end of the book I found several loopholes which I couldn't fill and I didn't feel as satisfied after reading it as I had after I'd finished the other books by him. Maybe I just didn't understand it completely. 2,75/5
I'm a big Sidney Sheldon fan. I read this book a long time ago and can't remember too much about it. I am going to put it in my reread pile.
This was the second to last Sidney Sheldon book to be released before his death. And it's a hot ass mess on a chitterling cracker. We follow Oliver Russell, who's on the quest to being POTUS. But he's messy and got baggage int he form of Leslie Stewart, his jiltered fiancee who wants to be like a Ted Turner type owning a major network just to make Oliver's life hell. Then there are side characters like Dana that are thrown into the story that give the impression they're important and they're not. The revenge angle between Leslie and Oliver isn't clear, and by the middle of the book you feel like Sheldon phoned it home. It's a boring read.
Za mene lično nepredvidivo i zanimljivo. Probala sam da čitam i druge njegove knjige, ali mi nisu ovako održale pažnju. Nisam je ispustila iz ruku ni na sekundu! :)
