I had not heard of either author before and didn't realize that it would have been best to have read something of theirs previously as I didn't find it to be a good stand alone book. This is because characters were not really introduced to a first time reader--you just had to know. Also the flashbacks were mostly sexual, which I don't usually like reading. The ending also felt a little rushed. Unfortunately, it didn't make me want to read anything by the authors in the future. The premise though was a good one, but it seemed like it was a wasted opportunity.

Not my type of book. I was also listening in audio and it was garbled.

Fun and frivolous

Good entry into the overall series. I might have enjoyed it a bit more without Cotton in it at all. But as it was the story is well written and placed.

Too much witch/occult/pagan ideology and too much explicit intimacy

Not into romance or fantasy novels. This is a 1.5 star review. I rounded down even though I enjoy the Cotton Malone thrillers and enjoyed The Balkan Escape.

This novella just was too far out in fantasy land for my tastes. I still plan to read the next novella installment, BUT that may be the end of my Steve Berry/MJ Rose readership if that installment is similar to this one.

This story was almost too short to accurately judge. A bit of intrigue. Some Arthur legend.

Cassiopeia Vitt gets her own mini adventure without Cotton and I loved it. The descriptions of the French mountain village of Eze have me adding it to my "to go" list.
As always Steve Berry combines fact and fiction to create a grand adventure that will have you googling away to find what is fact and what is fiction.
If you haven't read any of his books, you absolutely should start with the Amber Room.

Spin-off of the Cotton Malone series.
This particular title is mediocre.
