This story put me through it. THE YEARNING alone had me hooked. Ethan is Alice’s sister Monica’s finance that Alice is meeting for the first time after moving from NY to Chicago after a bad breakup. The attaction is instant & forbidden. The story is beaufiful yet, so sad. I cried buckets serveral times throughout. I do think it was a little long. Sometimes, I just wanted to get it moving along (which is why I’m giving it 4.5⭐️). The growth we get to see from Ethan, Alice & Monica is another part that makes this story so good. The spicy scenes were minimal & honestly, I don’t think the story needed anything additional than what it had. They were really about Ethan & Alice connecting & it was emotional as hell. Overall, this was a fantastic story & I highly recommend - especially if you need a good cry! ❤️

I’ll give this 4.5 but rounding up to 5 for goodreads.
I wasn’t sure i was going to like this (not because of premise) but it grew on me as i read further.
I really liked the FMC in this (the MMC was fine but i think she outshined him) the opening chapter was really relatable and instantly felt like i had to root for her.

The only downside I’d say is the MMC was actually kind of annoying in a few parts like a immature, childish way in some of the instances and felt myself rolling my eyes at his passive aggression at times. Overall, I do think he made up for it in the end.
