Alice Monroe's world crumbles when she loses her dream job and boyfriend in one night. Moving to Chicago to heal, she meets Ethan Black, a man who awakens a deep connection she can't resist—despite him being engaged to her sister. The tension between Alice and Ethan is palpable, pulling the listener into a whirlwind of forbidden romance. Narrated by June deBorahae, the audiobook captures the characters' raw emotions and moral struggles, making it impossible not to empathize with them. The story’s complexity and heart-wrenching beauty make it a captivating listen, exploring love, betrayal, and the agonizing choices we make for love.
I know the characters are flawed and we’re supposed to be in the pov. I was trying hard not to roll eyes the entire time for these cheaters but somehow I can’t because how meh their first meeting is. That was so boring. It supposed to be angsty but I can’t feel anything

The FMC falls for her sisters fiance and she is trying to push her feelings away but he makes it hard for her to do so.
By far, it's the best read of the year! I did not go into this book with high expectations, however, don't judge a book by its cover. (Which I almost did). The story is so beautifully written, the way the love is described between the two characters had my stomach on a butterfly high! As soon as I finished it I wanted to reread it! Oh, I hope this book gets an audiobook and a movie. Alexandria did a beautiful job!
Yeah pretty average . Dnf’ed at 24%. Considering the book’s thickkk !! I couldn’t bring myself to read this much. Felt bored…
