Anthologies are hard to review. Sometimes they are full of fun stories set around a certain theme. Sometimes there is only one or two stories you really like. While I found Bedtime Stories to be a well collected and edited anthology. Some of the stories I liked better than the others. I’m not going to review every story individually, but look at the overall quality of the anthology.

This anthology contains stories that are mostly contemporary with two odd ducks that are fantasy and paranormal romance, which makes a nice change of pace. As you may have guessed from the title, this anthology has that feel of bedtime stories, though not the ones you’d read to kids. For a lack of a better description, it has a dream-like quality that is not quite fairytale. You still following me?

The themes range from “gay for you” to ordinary men meet and opposites attract. The stories are set in different countries (and world for Ms. Arden). It is a nice mix that blends well in this anthology. It’s an anthology that has a bit for everyone, but the stories are not so much that same that it gets boring after reading two or three stories.
