I thought this would be a history, just with illustrations, but instead it's written like a children's book with an adult vocabulary. We see the Lewis Chessmen through their own eyes as they are found, sold, and passed about.
I don't feel like I learned much about the set in the reading. The perspective was kind of cute but I doubt I would read it again.
