It had some beautiful parts, but this book just wasn’t for me. I even considered dnf’ing it, but after a break I managed to finish it. I’m left feeling a bit conflicted

When I read this, I didn't feel as if I really got to know the characters but got to understand their current lives by finding out about the past. I can't say I really liked the characters but they did grow on me. I was also surprised by how this novel brought up politics of that time. Most books stay away from that. I enjoyed this read.

Love this author and the way she writes. Wasn't very memorable.
