***1/2

I (think?) I liked this better than Autumn.
Honestly I'm not sure what to think, but I do think this book won't be for everyone. I don't even think it was for me for the entirety of it.  Sometimes I was reading along and thinking "wow this is brilliant" and sometimes I was reading along and thinking "when will this end". I didn't hate it, didn't love it. Could appreciate the writing, couldn't appreciate some of the flitting and meandering about.

So there you go. There's my nonreview. Will I read Spring? I don't know. Maybe.

On par with Autumn for me. Had a slightly lessened emotional resonance, but Smith blends her poetry and politics with the narrative a lot more deftly here.

I enjoyed it but found it bleak and boring at times, which I guess does encapsulate Winter! I liked how it always felt like you were looking in through the window. There was a level of detachment and separation between the narrative and the reader.
