Tweede deel in haar vierdelige serie.

If this book were a journey, you'd find yourself travelling through some woods. It's nice. But then suddenly there's a whale swimming by. Huh, that's not normal... but you carry on anyway. Then just as you blink you're suddenly walking in a desert instead...

I fear my brain is far too basic for this book. I've recommended it to a much more intelligent friend. I don't cope well when things go a bit loopy (which is why most of Murakami isn't my cup of tea). But the core story is a lovely one. A story of Christmas, of a family brought together.

I enjoyed Autumn a lot more than this - the writing was a lot more stylised but there was no wackiness to it. Again, I fear this is a case of "it's not you, it's me".

These really are beautiful and unique books. Although I enjoyed Autumn slightly more, I really appreciated Winter as well. I am ready for Spring!
