There were some definite improvements in this instalment from the first book. The worldbuilding was expanded, which gave the narrative more depth. It was also more enjoyable to read. However, I still had a lot of issues. I had the same problem with the art style, and (something I forgot to mention in my last review) with the dialogue and internal monologue hitting you over the head with worldbuilding and whatever was happening in a certain scene. The plot also felt really rushed and the characters were one-dimensional, with only one of them having any development.
Moderate: Violence, Murder, Confinement, Blood, and Child abuse
Minor: Death, Fire/Fire injury, War, Death of parent, Body horror, Physical abuse, and Ableism
Moderate warnings for explosions and missing parent.
