I liked the parts about the Ravens, but, sadly, they were few and far between. This book seems to mostly be about Skaife's military history, which wasn't of much interest to me. But then again, the title of the book is "Ravenmaster", so I should have taken the clue. I was just expecting something different, maybe more about the birds. There are some historical parts about the Tower and the royalty who lived and died and are buried there, but they seemed more like the "tourist version". I must say Skaife is quite taken with himself, but then autobiographers usually are, which is why I don't go out of my way to read autobiographies.

If you like Ravens or enjoy reading about unique jobs, this is a good book. I like reading about things that I have no idea are happening in the world! Skaife also takes amazing photos of the ravens and shares them on Instagram if you want to check that out.
