I laughed, then laughed until I cried, then started sobbing because of the truth of her words.
Furiously happy was a fast, fun and easy read.
There were times that I laughed out loud and called a friend over to read a couple pages.
I get it, everyone will read this book differently, some people apparently find it offensive, offensive to people who suffer with depression or anxiety, or any kind of mental illness, and others will read it more like a success story.
I thought it was a heartfelt look at one woman's story and an honest look at Lawson's struggle.
I don't really understand how someone living their life to be best of their ability, trying to be happy despite suffering from mental illness can be offensive to someone, but to each their own.
You MUST listen to this on audiobook! Narrated by the author, this book gave me some great laughs during a tougher time. I would listen while taking a walk and would be embarrassed that I was laughing out loud walking down the street by myself. Some parts of the book were slower than others and I imagine that certain jokes were lost if you are reading rather than listening, but overall 5 stars on audio. Super relatable regardless of your mental health status, though much of her book incorporates hilarious anecdotes from the author’s struggles with depression and anxiety. I would listen to this again when I need to laugh.

There are stories in here that everyone can relate to. And then there are some that are just ok or not for everyone. But any book that can bring you to tears from laughter AND from personal insight deserves 4 stars.

I would not have finished this if I wasn’t reading it for class. It was not funny. Overall miserable to get through.

There were a few laugh out loud moments, and great insight into mental disease. She's a bit flighty, so it was a bit like looking into the mirror. However, she's an odd duck, and birds of a feather flock together. She's part of my gaggle of geese.
A very funny book about a very serious problem. Thanks so much for writing it Jenny. Also, don't listen to the audio book while at work if you sit at the beginning of the cube column because people will think you are smirking at them instead poorly attempting to hide laughter, not that I know that from personal experience.
