Some spinoffs are never as good as the original stories, but Unbound was very good. It was interesting to read short stories about other kids and how they managed life in the unwinding world. Some stories were heartbreaking tales while others were inspiring. I read this right after reading the first book and could understand it well. However, it probably would've been better to read the series in its intended order. Definitely a good read for dystopian lovers.

C'était un plaisir de retrouver ou de découvrir ces personnages a travers ces novellas. Mes préférées : Unschooled, Unclean et Unknown Quantity (avec sa dose de frissons d'horreur)

I read and loved the Unwind series 10+ years ago. I would recommend rereading or reading a detailed summary of each book. I would’ve enjoyed Unbound a lot more had I remembered the side characters more. I googled them but couldn’t remember how I really felt about them so that affected my enjoyment at seeing them on the page. Regardless, it was still a somewhat entertaining read. The last 5 stories (Unnatural selection, Unconfirmed,Untithed,Rewinds,Unknown Quantity) were the best ones.
- Unschooled - 3 stars. It was cool to see a bit of the world before Unwinding
- Unfinished Symphony - 1 star. I didn’t see what the point of the story was
- UnDevoured - 2 stars. Ronald’s backstory was not something I was interested. It come to no surprise that he had a sad upbringing and was a dick.
- Unclean - 3 stars. I like the idea of bio weapon unwinding and the new characters.

A nice wrap-up for the series with backstories of minor characters, stories of some new people and new world experiences and perspectives and epilogues. I'll miss this series with i 's world building and characters.
