ok i found some of Tom's Banksy-esque artist aesthetic deeply irritating but it was cute. like, these kids are kind of annoying but who isn't kind of annoying as a teen? i'm mad at Tom for using the Holocaust as a rhetorical device and also for referring to gayness as "being attracted only to particular genitals" (which is cissexist) but otherwise... cute

Sam and Ramona have a band together. Ramona has been in love with Sam since she met him, but there's no way she could tell him that and risk breaking up the band. Sam has been in love with Ramona too: but she's a confident girl, and if she liked him she definitely would have told him already.
So far, so cliched.
Then Sam and Ramona meet Tom, who becomes the vocalist for their band. The chemistry between the three of them is instantaneous, and their friendship becomes solid very quickly. But then things become difficult, because Ramona falls for Tom, and Tom likes her back.

I am so happy this book exists.
This this this! I want more like it. The writing didn't personally make my heart go '!!!' but I loved the characters, and the way they played together. (Literally!)
I am terribly happy to have it on my shelf and I hope to see a lot more like it in the future.
