Dear Heart, You Screwed Me is cute! I feel like the author kind of went overboard trying to prove Reese was from London, and her friendship with Connie was a random start. Loved the ending.
It was an okay read
Even though it had a good concept of age gab, best friend's father, this fell flat. It wasn't entirely unreadable but it was meh. Too much sex, hero making mistakes, girl having sex abd saying no. They didn't even talk at all through out the book. Just sex. Run sex. Fight sex. Sad sex. The talking happened after the girl got pregnant and all secrets revealed towards the end. It felt like author was trying to make it more interesting or complicated or whatever.
I rated it 3 because I finished and some parts I did love like humor, the girl's pain, Connie

4 Stars!
POV: Dual (1st person)
Slow burn
Tropes: Best friend's dad, Age gap, Accidental Marriage, Surprise Baby
Triggers: Death of a loved one, Grief
OW/OM drama: OW drama. No cheating.
Likes: I love a good age gap romance! And this one has the extra taboo element of it being her friend's dad! It was so heartbreaking to read Reese's journey in finding herself and love after a tragic loss. But in steps Killian, the possessive alpha who'll stop at nothing to show her she should be his. It has just the right level of angst for me, just heavy enough to really draw you into their story. You can't help but share their tears at times!
Dislikes: I'm not a huge fan of OW drama, the is/isn't he sleeping with someone else (FYI he's not). I could have also slapped him with over the birthday/gender party situation!

MY GODDD, one of the last chapters I WAS BALLING MY EYES OUT, maybe cause I also lost the love of my life young and found love again BUT MAYBE cause I am mentally unstable… BUT DAMNN did I love this book? yea I did. Was it spicy? For sure. Did it make me sick this age gap? NO actually didn’t really think of it cause she is 26/27 so she is adult adult, and they don’t make it weird in the book.

This is my second book by this author and I don't think she's the one for me. It started out so intriguing but went downhills, it was underwhelming.
I couldn't really feel the chemistry between the MCs. Something was missing, it wasn't convincing enough and lacked in depth.

This was just…not a great book. The sex scenes were spicy, but I eventually started to skim even those as I was struggling to not DNF the book.
I thought the early chapters of grief for Elijah was laying it on a little thick but ok, establishing background for FMC. Then insta bff with Connie (and in such a trite sorority girl “luv ya bitch tits way”) should have been my first clue the book was gonna tank. Next clue was FMC & MMC so drunk they flew via private jet from NYC to Las Vegas, got married, and flew back to NYC and FMC has no recollection whatsoever. Later MMC admits to being drunk but not as drunk as FMC but never reveals why they got married or why he wants her to suddenly be his wife for real. I stick with the book bc I have hangups about DNF’ing books, but it just gets worse.
Sooooo much miscommunication & pettiness & oh look FMC went in to get an IVF work up & surprise you are already pregnant! Right about the time the FMC has a random fortune telling I started skimming the book to finish. An absurd amount of unnecessary third act drama….the icing on the “why did I keep reading this book” cake was the FMC finding out the MMC had a heart transplant…and the heart he got was…wait for it…from when her dead fiancé! I dont know if this was supposed to be a tear jerking full circle moment or what, but it made me want to throw the book across the room.
