POV: First person / Dual
Genre: Age Gap / Best Friends Dad / Love after loss / Accidental marriage / Feisty heroine / Possessive hero

Two years after the sudden death of her fiancé, Reese moves to New York from the UK to start a new job at a PR company. She is desperate to start a new life after all her pain and suffering. On her first day she meets Connie, the two hit it off and despite struggling to let go of the past, with a friend like Connie she finally starts to live again.

Then one night, in a Champagne Bar, a handsome man sends her a bottle of bubbly before disappearing into the night. But the stranger keeps popping up and then on one fateful night, after far too many shots of tequila, the unimaginable happens… Reese wakes up the following morning with a pounding headache, a naked man beside her and a ring on her finger.

Mortified by the events, Reese expects a quick annulment, but Killian isn’t quite ready to let her go…

Reese was a beautiful character, she’d been through so much and my heart broke for her, but her tenacity and feistiness showed that she was stronger than she thought she was.

Killian was exceptional, I loved him! The definition of an alpha male for sure, he was possessive, powerful, passionate, knows what he wants and goes for it. He made mistakes and kept secrets, but honestly, I never doubted that his heart was in the right place. He was most definitely an alpha, but one who showed his emotions, and that made me love him even more.

Together Reese and Killian were perfection, and the addition of Connie to the story was an absolute delight.

Dear Heart, You Screwed Me was full of highs and lows, it was a story about the claws of grief, loneliness, loss and pain, but it’s also about learning how to live and love again, about finding joy, rediscovering who you are and the power of a good friend. There were hilarious moments, there were angsty moments, and there were most definitely heartbreaking moments, but the journey you’re taken on is worth every breath-holding moment.

This is my second book by this author and I don't think she's the one for me. It started out so intriguing but went downhills, it was underwhelming.

I couldn't really feel the chemistry between the MCs. Something was missing, it wasn't convincing enough and lacked in depth.

Dear Heart, You Screwed Me was an emotional rollercoaster. I felt heartache, laughter, and anger. I am usually a fast reader, but I found myself wanting to savor this story.

It was easy to connect with Reese, I just wanted to pull her in for a hug! Killian was a total babe. If you love grumpy, jealous, protective heroes who demand control you will fall in love with Killian….be aware he has his faults and boy did he. I may have screamed at him a few times. He messes up a lot and Reese forgives him a little too easily. She should have made him grovel a little more.

There are some things I would have liked to have seen played out differently and I figured out one of the big twists early on….but his biggest secret was a twist I didn't see coming. I felt the best friend's dad part of the story could have been a twist for the first half….the storyline was carried out but since the book was categorized as such so it was expected. This may be a spoiler…..but I know going in that there was a surprise pregnancy
The frequency of her desire to have a baby and his desire not to have one was easy to predict this coming. The two other big twists, I will leave you to read for yourself.

Dear Heart, You Screwed Me is a story that will stick with me. The range of emotions and depth I felt earned this story a 5/5. The spice level was pretty steamy
