A couple of weeks ago, I read Big Little Lies. The two books are very similar in terms of the characters and the writing (the way of building suspense so to say). For me, it lowered the rating of this book because it felt unorginal (I'm aware that The Husband's Secret was published before BLL). Also, the parallel between the plot and the investigation in BLL is unique in my onpinion and I find the book to be executed better.

Otherwise, The Husband's Secret was a classic summer read and I managed to read it in one day. I find Moriarty to be apt to describe the women's insecurities and negative feelings so that the reader can feel them very vividly. I find this to be an impressive ability but also somewhat annoying because I'm picking this kind of book as a light summer read, not to deal with negative emotions.

Cecelia discovers a letter from her husband to be read in the event of his death - of course she reads it and learns something about her husband she wishes she never knew. Can she reconcile that with who she thought he was?

A story of secrets, family, grief and so much more.

Not one of this author’s best but an OK read

I found myself skimming a lot of this book. I didn't mind the writer's style, but I need more physical description of the characters. Without that I find it hard to keep track of them, particularly in this case where the POV switches each chapter. I didn't have a good mind's eye image of them to help me remember who they were and found myself having to backtrack to get caught up. I also prefer more fluffy HEA type books and this certainly isn't that.
