Enjoyable, complicated, full of angst and desire. My only dislike was with Erica. She tried to be independent and failed, I couldn't understand her ability to get herself into most of the situations she faced.

A little more angst than the previous book but there’s still something missing for me :s

Erica frustrated the heck out of me in this one. So she leaves Blake (who I'm really liking now) as she is threatened by her father. Okay she was worried about Blake being killed her her dad, and this is why she left him, but when she's on a break with Blake she kinda having feelings for James, yeah she really likes him but realises she feels more for Blake. Not once did she say anything to James about work office ethics or no to relationships to James in the office environment, no she goes and kisses him, but oh she is so in love with Blake and is so destroyed, then why the ever loving fuck would you kiss James and think you had feelings for him. Erica you are a hypocrite as you warned of your employee Risa for office relationships with James!!!!

Now her father, what an asshole threatening Erica, he basically destroys he relationship with the mans she loves so much, wants her to give up her company Clozpin, she has worked so hard on for years, to go work with him in his political campaigns, he also hits his daughter Erica and on the next meeting threatens her to watch how she speaks to him........ oh and the end of the book she forgives him and says she wants and relationship with her dad and to leave her and Blake alone please and he agrees and all is okay now, what the fuck???What a major let down. Sorry but I'm not investing in this series anymore.

Its not often I swear in my reviews but I'm disappointed in this one, sorry to those of you who have loved this series, but this one simply isn't for me.

Hardpressed is book #2 in the Hacker series. The story continues for Erica and Blake.

You know how the second book or movie of a trilogy is usually a let down and not as good as the first book? Hardpressed just soared past Hardpressed from the turn of the first page. It wasn't slow for me, it flowed and kept me reading. I couldn't put it down. The characters continued to be well written, flaws and all. I couldn't find any discrepancies between the first and second book and that made the book even more for me.

I don't like comparing books or series of books to others, however, for me, the series was as intriguing to me as the Crossfire series by Sylvia Day.

I'm trying to decide if Erica&Blake's relationship is toxic or not. Debating if I'm gonna read the rest of the series. The plot is getting a bit dramatic.

What can I say about hardpressed other than I AM UTTERLY IN LOVE WITH THIS SERIES! The progression of the characters and their relationship is utterly addictive, after each chapter you just can't seem to stop. The writing of this series just captivates you and you find yourself imitating the breathing of the characters.

My ONLY criticism is these books are not long enough! I never want these books to end.
