4.16 AVERAGE

the earlier books are my favorite - they are worth 4 and 5 stars. but as the books go on, i think the stories get tired and the new characters aren't as good. hence the three stars. but magician's nephew and wardrobe are the best, and on my top favorite books ever.

All these books are amazing, and a modern day classic. The films are pretty good, though they do the books no justice. I read these when I was little, and I've always loved them.
One flaw: I hate Peter, h's so cocky "/
Oh well, an amazing series by an inspirational author! :)

Own.

This evening on our way home we finished The Last Battle. All of us enjoyed the story. There was plenty to talk about and enjoy, particularly the ways people try to make God into "Tashlan." It was pleasant to meet old friends here, too.

Unfortunately, we didn't love Patrick Stewart as the reader. His voices were more grating than one would expect. I'd never read any of Narnia except for The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. In some ways, I'm glad of that because I really enjoyed the stories. In other ways, I'm glad my children are hearing them with us.

Overall, this boxed set was well done and we enjoyed all but one of the readers (the one we would expect most to enjoy, Patrick Stewart). The quality and completeness of Lewis' vision of Narnia was a joy to behold.

Ahh, my childhood collected into one long ass bindup. Yes.

This book is all the Narnia books put together in C.S. Lewis's preferred order.
