I love Elizabeth Gaskell. She is one of my all-time favourite authors and this little book with it's two tales didn't disappoint. The first story is a ghost story set around Christmas and the second, a dream of a fairy tale! Both beautifully written and xompletely enjoyed!

A short victorian gothic novel worth reading. An old nurse tells the story of this haunted house her and her mistress lived it to her mistresses child, setting up the suspense and the mood of paranormal activity.
I love these tiny ghost story books, it's making meeting my Goodreads challenge much easier.
