This is a typical „The line between love and hate is thin.“ ones. They absolutely hate each other until all that .. tension.. exploded and they suddenly realise they’ve been attracted to each other all along. I think the whole fighting the attraction was a little too one-sided, but we did get there, so I’m overall quite satisfied with this book.

can i just say i have never ever rated a book so low — AND I KEPT READING because i wanted to discover what her big ass secret was ONLY FOR THE REVEAL TO BE COMPLETELY INCONSEQUENTIAL IN RELATION TO THE PROPORTION THE FEMALE MC FREAKED OUT ?!?! i loathe the word alphahole it’s fr the biggest ick i’m sorry + there were just way too many characters in this — you’ve either got to introduce them all properly or just leave half of them out. it was only like 3/4 through the book i realised that declan + hunter and the male mc were their own trio like the whole time i thought hunter was part of the 7??? and who tf is solene and why is she being mentioned so much for someone who’s “away on holiday” throughout the entirety of this book? i’m literally fuming bc i wasted so long on this book for the shittiest reveal ever.
this had so many good reviews and i'm so confused as to why? like, don't get me wrong, there are good elements--e.g. the support the couple gave one another, the friendships etc., but i felt like this was so prolonged? so much happened but i cannot name a massive plot point other than the secret keeping? i wish i liked this more, but i'm so conflicted lol

The Proposal by L. Steele really took me by surprise!!
Liam Kincaid is the most eligible bachelor in London and is in need of a wife in order to claim his inheritance. Isla Bailey is the meddling Wedding Planner who turns all his plans upside down. When his intended bride realizes she needs to marry for love and calls off the wedding only days before the ceremony Liam blackmails Isla into agreeing to be his bride instead.
Liam is an arrogant alpha-hole who doesn't believe in romantic notions of true love. They both take an instant dislike to each other only to realize they have been fighting an indisputable attraction. Their chemistry is combustable and Liam is quickly brought to his knees by the feisty and independent Isla.
This novel is full of internal conflict with each keeping secrets but gradually they learn to trust each other and find love.
"I'm still only a man - holding the woman of his dreams in his arms. I fu3king adore your soul. I worship your spirit. And when you combine that with your body, baby, that... is my downfall." - Liam
I highly recommend this seductive and heartfelt romance!!
Dual POV
Spicy and descriptive - no virgins
No cheating or true ow drama, no om drama
Past trauma - kidnapping, SA
I received a complimentary copy of this book as part of the author's ARC team; I am voluntarily sharing my honest review.

I volunteered to read an ARC and give my honest opinion. I love L. Steele books and generally inhale them in one sitting, this one was no exception. While I didn't find this book as steamy as some of her others it was still an amazing book. I found Liam to be more sweet than alpha and Isla annoyed the crap out of me most of the book. You can definitely read this one as a stand alone but I always say they are better when you read the series and get some glimpses into their characters along the way. Love that some of the others (both groups of 7) show up throughout the book. Loved Liam's mom!

I love a good fake dating/ marriage of convenience.
This one started out so strong. They had good banter.
But when it came down to what Isla was worried about/ her big mystery trauma I was a little disappointed.
But overall it was a pretty good book.
