Had to DNF this, I just didn’t like the characters, or the story line, it was so unbelievable and icky

The first 1/3 was ok at most. the rest was dogshit, this was written as if it were a middle age woman, and a 2012 prepubescent horny Wattpad writer combined forces and made this horrible thing. Spoiler! she's bald... that's the big secret... literally, no one cares.

Now I get that this is a big insecurity, she keeps backing out of the relationship, and by the relationship I mean MARRIAGE. Also, he explicitly mentions that he did a background check, he knew her fucken dog and she thinks he won't know a medical condition, especially since he was also looking to have a child... do you people understand how that doesn't make any sense at all.

Then the entire best friend with his BSF felt so fucken annoying like OK WE GET IT ANOTHER BOOK. The other 2/3 of this book felt so trashy, rushed yet dragged out I hate it. By the time I got to the 'big reveal' I had already forgotten about the beginning and the characters I actually liked. Also, the book suffered from 'Main character syndrome which is where everything, and I mean everything revolves around her, her friends bend over backward for HER and she's the most dislikable one here.

This has honestly discouraged me from reading any of L. Steele's books and makes me understand why they don't use their full name, I wouldn't want this thing anywhere near mine either.

2.5 the big twist didn’t seem that big of a deal to me and idk why she was super stressing bout it.

QUOTE FROM THE BOOK
Anger thuds at my temples. My pulse begins to race. "I never have to coerce women. And what you call being trapped is what most women call security. But clearly, you wouldn’t know that, considering" —I wave my hand in the air— "you prefer to run your kitchen-table business which, no doubt, barely makes ends meet."

(sent for review) this might be the first time i DNF a book….

This book was horrible the fmc had this huge secret she’s been keeping from him and doesn’t want to tell him was scared for his reaction and didn’t tell him until 75% in it was that she bald!!! Like I thought this was the dumbest reason for her actions! His biggest secret was that he was kidnapped and killed someone and he told her much earlier in the book like girl that was beyond dumb and annoying to have to wait until the 75% of the book to find out so I DNF’d it!!!!!

CW: Off page SA, kidnapping, murder. Light BDSM elements

This is my first book by this author. This book is written in one of my least favorite tropes, Enemies to Lovers. While it is the first in the Morally Grey Billionaire series there are so many characters from her other series it is hard to enjoy.

The book abandons the fake marriage really quickly and the MMC switches to love super quick. The FMC is not cute or quirky and draws out this unnecessary drama too long. This book is approximately 150 pages too long.

However the spice in this book it so good.
