Behind Closed Doors

B.A. Paris

3.82 AVERAGE

This was a monthly book club pick and I found myself coming back to it to see what happens next. I love the way the story flips from the past to the present to tell a horrible story about what goes on behind closed doors in a seemingly perfect marriage. The story had satisfying twists and characters that drew me in from the very beginning. I would definitely recommend it.

Quick read for me.
The story captivated me from the begging.
I kept on reading to find out what happened....
as I suspected Jack was not a good guy. The facade quickly faded

Be prepared....the dog dies 😭💔😭💔<spolier>

The book was easy to figure out early on. It will be triggering to some as there is strong domestic violence in the book.

I still think it was well written and that Grace's story was told in a way that needed to be.

3.5 Holy shit. It's been a while since I read something so page-turner. Psycho thrillers do that to me. Behind Closed Doors has a lot of weak spots, not the best start and no the perfect characters, but I just couldn't put it down. If you like the genre you'll like it, if you're in search of something with more dept, try something else.

…wondering if anyone else in the world has been as fooled by a man as I was.

It took me forever to get through this book. I hated Jack from jump & Grace made me so mad at times that I almost found her unlikeable. However, it was one of those books that I felt like I needed to keep reading & I’m glad I did!!!

This was my first book by BA Paris & I’ll definitely be reading more from her!

The main character is so irritatingly dumb and helpless. The main baddy is just boring. Plays up mental disability in a they're simple but wise kind of way that's so annoying.

If I could give this 0 stars I would. It just was not for me. I never just give up and put a book down. Once I start one, I have to see it through. This book, however, was the first that I put it down less than half-way through without even glancing at the last page to see how it ends. I honestly couldn’t care less. Onto hopefully a better book....

So many triggers! Reader beware. Check trigger warnings.  Well written but extremely hard to read.

loved the character Mille but Grace was dumb at the beginning
