I’m a huge Maggie Gates fan (started with Griffiths Brothers series) and this one just lacked?? I felt the pacing was weird. Not the whole two people who had lost someone and then finding love again pacing, because grief is journey and it’s no one’s business to tell you how to grieve, but how both main characters were against being together and then in the space of a few pages were fine with it. That pacing was off to me.
Also the “mystery” in this didn’t hit the mark. Maybe if (spoiler) they had seen something to make these attacks against our FMC valid and that was sprinkled throughout the story but, eh. I’m still going to keep reading this series because I love this author but yeah. This one didn’t hit the mark for me.

I don't know if I can put into words how I feel about this book. There is so much heartbreak but without it we wouldn't have the healing and finding each other. I absolutely loved this book. I wanted to cry at times and other times I wanted to scream at the characters, mainly Steve and tell him to get over himself! It was the perfect amount of heartbreak and happiness! I can't wait to read the next book in the series and get more of all of these characters!
